just like clifford the big red dog

Here is my 4 1/2 month old puppy! HUGE! Clifford the big red dog comes to mind when I think about our puppy. Still one of the best birthday presents I’ve ever received and definitely the funniest. He’s a very good boy, still toilet training, makes us laugh, the kids love him to bits and all need to say hi to him first thing in the morning, last thing at night and as soon as they come in the door. He needs his first trip to the groomers for some trimming around his face but he’s such a fun big/little dog and look he even smiles for the camera!

Now I also have to tell you that I will be a little quieter than usual online. I made the decision about a month or so ago to stop ‘working’ on the blog and leaving sponsored posts behind. Life is so busy and newsflash….it doesn’t get quieter or easier once they start school. And wait until I tell you that I start homeschooling 2 of them next term. That’s a whole new post (or series of posts on that topic). It is the hugest relief not to have lots of emails to answer and deadlines and to just take a step back. I’m selling fabric and still doing the social media for the hospital and I love both of those jobs as they are small and manageable and don’t take over my life the way running a blog does these days. It had actually been my goal since little lawson came along but took a while to get there.

I still love my blog and will of course be keeping it here but it is just the best feeling in the world and the biggest load off my shoulders to go back to the very first years of blogging and just blog when I feel like it and stop the business end of things. So I’m still here, I’m so grateful for everyone who still follows along and look forward to having a bit more time for craft and doing the things I haven’t found the time for. I think someone else in the house is hoping I become super organised with the laundry but I think that would mean giving up the craft. And that’s not happening anytime soon!

  1. I am sure that has been a hard decision to make. I am looking forward to reading your posts no matter no matter how often they pop into my blog feed.

All the best for you all

  2. It’s great that you’re reaching your goals, Corrie! I look forward to your future blog posts.

  3. New chapter in your amazing life journey! Enjoy the challenges of home schooling, I know some friends who home school get some much joy from the experience. Look forward to updates when & as they happen. Glad you’ll still be selling fabric Corrie!

Thank you I have enjoyed your blog. All the best for the future and will look forward to the blogs when you do them. I have found this site to be very informative and very interesting. Once again a big thank you

  5. I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog the last few years and hearing how your family has grown. Best of luck and will be lovely to still read the odd update x

  6. Looking forward to the homeschooling posts. I homeschooled our big girl right through high school and it was a wonderful and successful adventure. We’re considering homeschooling our little ones soon…but 4 of them…I’m not sure. We wish you God’s blessing on your homeschooling journey.

  7. So pleased for you Corrie that you e been able to take a step back and return to bloggin for the joy of it vs it being work. So interested I. The homeschooling. Looking forward to seeing how that goes.

  8. I can hear the relief in your words. Congratulations on making that decision. Love your puppy xx

  9. Enjoyed hearing about your little (or not so little) family over the past few years but definitely believe in the family comes first motto and of course, crafting. Funnily enough, even though I am not a blogger, I have been spending less time on social media too and going back to the simple things in life. It can be a bit all-consuming. Enjoy your new direction and I will look forward to your posts whenever they appear. PS love your fur baby!!

Good on you for deciding on what is ‘right’ for you at this point in time. Best wishes and god bless

  11. Good on you for doing what is right for you. You know, things change, life changes and you have to do what is right for you at that time. Your life when you started your blog was different to where you are now, and we grow and evolve with things as they change. I look forward to reading about your homeschooling adventure. And I loooove your dog….and I am not a dog person lol

  12. How wonderful! I am homeschooling my littles (two with special needs), so I look forward to seeing glimpses of your journey. It’s a joy.

  13. Your dog sounds like lots of fun. Yeah I never monetised my blog for that reason I just like to post when I want to not when I have to.
I’d be interested to hear about your adventures in home schooling. Sometimes I think about that too.

  14. Welcome to the wonderful life of being a homeschool mum. Life and the relationship between you and your kids is about to become something so much deeper. I’ve been homeschooling my now 9 kids for 8 years now.
Wow, now there is going to be even more in your blog I love, craft, cooking, large family, and homeschooling.
Can’t wait to read all about your adventures!!

  15. Sometimes we just have to take a step back. I have enjoyed following your blog and watching your family grow along the way. I will keep a look out for your next up date, Regards Wendy

  16. Hiya there. One grandma here still reading. I love ‘your’ pits the best. Have fun homeschooling. I did it for a while too and loved the peacefulness of it.

  17. Hi Corrie,

Just want to say that I love your blog. I enjoy the way you write and following along with your family, craft and cooking….. Completely understand that sometimes things need to be put on hold and everything given a priority but I will miss your regular posts.

Good luck with your new changes, I am sure you will embrace the challenge and be all the wiser for it.

    Cheers, Helen.

  18. All the best Corrie!
