christmas lists

How are your lists coming along? Mine seem to be growing longer by the day and I really need another week to get ready for Christmas. Thankfully in the present department I just have the adults left….oh and retro daddy the hardest person to buy for……..ever!. At the moment he is thinking a docking station for his ipod and some ralph lauren for his casual friday’s in the office and church. This is major progress from last weekend when he offered up no suggestions. Nothing. Oh we are so different. I’ve bought all my presents and could still fill an A4 page with my wish list.

I was fond of the ‘water fountain’ pony tail

Mind you, I still haven’t finalised the christmas menu yet and I normally bake to my hearts content on Christmas eve. However, turns out Elodie playing baby Jesus is quite the production with 2 rehearsals, getting there early on Christmas Eve as well as my responsibilities on the home front –  managing house guests, hosting christmas day lunch and boxing  day and of course just general day to day family life.

santa photo 2007
showing my inexperience – I didn’t get dressed up or put make up on. I didn’t realise keira wouldn’t want to sit on santa’s lap!

And I can’t believe I haven’t even had the santa photo done yet, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I am normally onto that by now.  So that will be this Sunday after mass and the rehearsal while everyone is looking nice and presentable. The thing is that I definitely need retro daddy on hand as I’m guessing the twins are not going to be huge fans of Santa’s knee.

my chubba chops twins and what was i thinking with keira’s shoes!
I do love looking back over all of the Santa photos because they just tell the story of our little family……….in a word…….EXPANDING! There is no way I could of ever imagined that we would have 4 little ones so close together. No way. I just can’t wait to add this year’s photo……….

  1. Oh Corrie, they are lovely photos and a gorgeous record of your growing family! At this rate, there’s not going to be any room for Santa! God bless and best wishes for Christmas. xx Fiona PS thanks for getting my order out so quickly – you truly are superwoman.

  2. Lol, who cares about the shoes? They look like happy little kids visiting Santa.

  3. Great photos….my daughter was so scared of Santa we have none taken with him….a big regret…Hey get the BOSE ipod dock. I got one for my b’day and it is awesome. Enjoy

  4. What a fun way to chronicle your history. So cute!
As for me, I’m chained to the sewing machine until I’m done. Way too much sewing these days. But I can’t wait because I know they are going to love the presents.

  5. I love your Santa photos. Ours have been a little hit and miss too. Still don’t have a nice one with smiling children yet… maybe next year.
Thanks for sharing and hope you have a lovely Christmas :-)

  6. Love the Santa photos. It is something that I want to do with my kids one day when they appear! My parents did it a few times when I was little and they’re such cute photos!! And they show the milestones you reach every year as they grow older and wiser :)

  7. Would you believe that after SIX Santa photos I went in a brown dress, no make-up and frizzcity hair this year. Guess who is front and centre with The Badoo on her lap in our 2010 Santa photo!?! When will I learn!!!

I saw a really freaky Santa photo on another blog and now I’m not liking Santa… x

  8. Too funny, Corrie, and such a gorgeous story unfolding in front of our eyes. I haven’t written a Christmas list yet or done our Santa photo – I hope that makes you feel better ☺. J x

  9. Lovely to see your children and how they have grown – lovely happy family you have :-)

  10. When I was a freshman in college my roommate showed me her family book that her mother had compiled of the yearly pictures of her family with Santa. They went from one tiny baby to 5 big teen/young adults surrounding Santa. It was so cool to see the family grow on those pages, so I started when we just had one baby and did the same thing. I finally let my boys quite going when the youngest turned 18 and last year I compiled the pictures in a book for each of them. I LOVE LOVE LOVE those books. And my favorite pictures? Each one has a shot when they were 2 — screaming on Santa’s knee. Someone told me it was a mean thing to do, but it’s such a brief moment and the memories are priceless. Keep it up — there will be years when it’s so hard you’ll be tempted to give up — we even forgot one year until it was too late — oops!

  11. That’s quit not quite — doh1

  12. What lovely mmories you have there – Baden sat with santa with Amelia this year – not the best photo – but itwas tear free so a bonus.

Good luck with getting everyone to stay happy for the picture:)

  13. How lovely to look back and see the great memories Corrie… so sweet…your amazing.. I have four kids BUT I take my hat off to you… you do an amazing job and always are happy and cheerful.. I know we all have days that go haywire…were human But its always pleasure to read your adventures and visit your world.. you are an inspiration.
Merry Christmas and a Happy & Blessed New Year
    Hugs Dawn x x

  14. Sweet photos!

  15. I love looking back at my santa pics too – I even think we have had the same santa as you a couple of times, although 2009 looks like a new recruit. This year we stood in the queue and tried to buy new shoes at the same time!!! Just trying to multi task as we mums do!
