Well I have my first market under my belt after a few years away from markets. It was a little quiet as it was a school market, cold and raining and election day but I made some good sales and met a lot of families I hadn’t met yet. I also met our country’s treasurer but had no idea who I was talking to. I just must be so out of the loop of politics right now (maybe a little annoyed at politicians and so not following along).
Anyway before my market I found some older fabrics in my craft room and have listed a few in my etsy store here. I have another market in 2 weeks here so need to get cracking on topping everything up (especially my tissue packs as one lovely lady bought 9!) and making more advent calendars which proved very popular.
I forgot how fun markets are – probably because I get out of the house – but also a rollercoaster of emotions. Yay I’m booked to do a market, let’s start making stuff, I’m never going to have enough stock, that’s it I’m not doing it, I’m going to pull out, help I need a float and paper bags, packing everything up and getting excited and that’s all just before market day. I went through all the emotions and still have a few things to iron out but had a great day!
Your market table looks so inviting. I especially like your Advent Calendars, did you fill the pockets? I live near Cape Town in South Africa and also participate in Christmas markets, usually held in church halls for a few weeks in December. I don’t have to be at the markets on a daily basis, there are helpers and a central pay point.
Oh that’s great you don’t have to be there each day as that was what has killed me, I did 3 markets at the end of the year and the build up and then the day is really exhausting. I don’t fill the pockets myself but people do themselves. Lots of fun making them but I’ll start earlier this year
