I know, I know. It’s been a little quiet here with renovation progress but work has been going on. Cornices are in and walls have been sanded and it’s looking more like a proper room. Everything has been prepared for the painters who have arrived today to work their magic on the walls and ceiling. I’m really excited (and a little bit nervous) to see how the colours turn out in the new space A very pale grey on the walls with vivid white on cornices, skirtings, the ceiling, doors and windows.
But we have serious cabin fever. It’s not safe to use the back room so we’re going a little cuckoo in the front of the house. But one month from today the kitchen and caesarstone will be in and the trades will be finishing off their jobs. Now that is exciting.
Just that one more step to make it look almost complete. The paint will so change everything. Keep your chin up. If you have managed to survive the plasterers I think you can manage anything. Cherrie
I really like your kitchen posts. Big kitchen envy
I’m just about to paint our bedroom grey with white trims. What color grey are you going to paint your kitchen walls? It seems like it is a fine line between going dark enough on the walls so the white is a big contrast but also making sure that the grey isn’t too dark and gloomy.
Sure that is exciting! The paint will give a total new look to your house. One stroke of color can change a lot of it’s looks.I love to get my house painted every year albeit it takes a lot of time and effort.

Woo hoo! You;’re getting there, Sweetheart. Which Caesarstone have you chosen? We love our nougat! J x
Laughed when I read willywagtails remark “if you have managed to survive the plasterers”…The day I had 7 gyprokers plastering the reno was the only day I ended the day in a flood of exhausted tears!!! Mind you, I also had to deal with 2 electricians, 2 brickies, the main builder, 3 dogs and our brand new kitchen uninstalled in the midst of all these people ( which got scratched!!) It was a very stressful day. Your reno is going so fast!! We lived without a kitchen for 9 weeks!
Oh yes, I can imagine you’re having serious cabin fever. Nothing worse than being restricted to small areas with children. But it sounds like it’s all rolling along nicely and definitely exciting that it’s only a month away to completion :o) xo
I do cuckoo well…3 years and counting in our shed while owner building our house! Everyone tells me it will be worth it….I truly hope so! Can’t wait to see your kitchen finished x
