Keira quickly took the book off me and has ‘told’ me in no uncertain terms what I will be knitting her. Um Keira I’ve never done fair isle before so a dress might be a tad too ambitious! But I can’t decide what yarn to buy as they are all delicious. As you know I have a soft spot for everything pink and girly and I love the bright vibrant girly colours on offer like this one.
Back to the book. Wonderland is stunning. Baby to size 7 and a few size 8 in response to reader requests for larger sizes. And since I have the other two books by MillaMia I have plenty of choice now since the complete set lives at my house. Because you can never have too many craft books. But if that wasn’t enough, the yarns are to die for. Super luxurious and something special. I love this wool/silk yarn.
In last month’s Womens Weekly (the one before the Danni Minogue cover), there was a lovely baby blanket knitted in Millamia wool……..perfect for beginners like me, so I ordered my wool from Suzy………..in the blue/cream/lilac combination. For beginners, it’s a great project to start with.
bet you could do fairisle easy peasy ! thankyou for the post….hope things are going along ok for you since your Mum died….
Okay, a vague comment I know but if Millimia is Swiss are the books in English or are those horrible charts that always make me feel like I am doing more maths than knitting?
Could almost wish I had a baby but don’t be frightened of Fairisle it is worth the effort, just keep the travelling (non knitted yarn) loosely looped along behind your work with the yarn you are knitting. Usually you only have two colours to deal with at a time – you will make a lovely fairisle!
My top tip at Christmas would have to be organisation. No matter whether it’s a small or large gathering, organisation helps. In fact I’m in the middle of making home made ice cream, and caramel now, in preparation for the big day ☺
Whoops, this was meant for the aldi post, baby hit the buttons, and it posted here…. Eeekkk how do i move it?
