Well before you all stop reading my blog because there is never any craft here – here it is! Trust me when I say I miss my craft as much as you miss seeing it. And as I took these photos today I realised I need to switch off the computer more often and get crafting. But may I present to you – the first knitted garment of the season.
Just to refresh your memory this is the easy baby cardigan from More Last Minute Knitted Gifts. You can find it on ravelry here. Truly a beautiful knitting book and a geat price at the moment for a lovely hardcover book. I knit this in Bendigo’s 12 ply Rustic but sadly the colour is no longer available. Retro daddy doesn’t know this yet but we are heading to Echuca in July for a family wedding and I feel a trip to the Bendigo back room is on the cards.
This is a simple cardigan. Knit all in one piece with moss stitch bands but you could use garter stitch if you’re a real beginner. Normally I wouldn’t block my all in one knits for babies but this one really needed some blocking particularly on the front bands where the increasing had been done. Now this is the largest size with an extra 2 inches knit front and back for length. We might need to wear it every day to get lots of wear from it this winter.
I just love it when you just finish a little knit and pop it on your adorable model. I could honestly just keep having babies just to have beautiful models for my craft. But there is something wrong with the equation because the more children you have the less time you have to craft but the more time you spend buying craft supplies. Or maybe it’s just that they accummulate. Or maybe I just buy too much. Who knows.
And three cheers for Elodie who is one sick puppy and had just come home from her 4th trip to the GP’s in 3 weeks and had been sick with a fever the night before. By the end of the mini shoot she was over it. Fair enough, little princess.
To complete Elodie’s look (will you listen to me? I’ve obviously been spending too much time with Donny) she is also wearing a Gap onesie, Country Road linen pants and hair clip from Townmouse.
gorgeous!!! both elodie and the cardi!!
hope it keeps her nice and snuggly warm
Gorgeous!
Hope the poor mite is feeling better soon!
Love it! I’ll be off to check out ravelry now!
a beautiful Knit Corrie, I love the colour too.
How long does this take you? I’ve never done knitting/crochet, it seems like it would take WAY too much time. (I like to stick to one-day projects – I just don’t like to wait on the finished product!)
Having more babies to use them as models….that is soooo cute … Your baby is so pretty & it seems pretty darned compliant for an unwell bub.. So many ppl have little ones with or getting over things atm .. Take care. Gorgeous Girls.
Corrie, those gorgeous cherub cheeks are just killing me! so want to come over and kiss them and give her a big hug. too cute! Naomi x
Seriously want to kiss those adorable little cheeks.
the sweater is lovely too!
Love the cardi. Can’t wait to see all you guys again. Have pencilled in the BWM trip. ;0)
Best dressed kid on the block!!
Elodie is looking so grown up!! I love those cheeks <3
Looks lovely! Hope she’s feeling better soon.xx
Oh my Elodie looks super cute in her outfit. The little cardi is just adorable. Maybe you can go to the Bendigo Show in July if you have time because I think sometimes the Mill closes over that weekend (not 100% sure)! Keira and Elodie look quite alike in that photo!
She looks adorable. I wish I dressed as smart as your baby! ha ha.
I also feel the need for a trip to that mysterious back room some time soon!
I love the arms on that. . can’t wait to see the next things you’ll knit up.
Looks lovely! And that photo of Elodie sitting up with her cute little cheeks is making me clucky!!!
Elodie looks like a little doll in that last photo. I love that you have put a natural colour wool on her and also used my Mum’s favourite stitch – moss stitch. Cherrie
oh that last photo – stop my ovaries are hurting from the cuteness. Gorgeous cardigan AND model. You can tell shes one of yours – same look as her gorgeous sibs. All from the same mold. Beautiful
And I have to ask (sorry you are probably over the questions) but Elodie is it E-low-dee or more like Melody without the M?
I have a Gus who is now 4 and at least once a week I still get asked is it Angus? Nope ‘just Gus’. Nearly got it made up on a onsie when he was first born. Hope she is well soon and doesnt share it around with her mumma or rest of the family
Oh Corrie your girls are both so so gorgeous! I love the cardi and look forward to more gorgeous knits and too-cute photos! hope your little one is feeling better soon x
Lovely cardi Corrie and gorgeous little girls. Have a nice weekend
Hugs Pene x
Awww poor little Elodie, it’s a rough time of year for the littlies, hope she recovers fully very soon.
Absolutely gorgeous knit, Elodie looks so cute in it… those cheeks are just amazing. Your girls are truly beautiful babes :o)
It is such a lovely cardigan in such a beautiful colour. I love oatmeal things!
Elodie is the perfect model too – so cute! I hope she is feeling better soon! x
hmm, does this sound like a trip to the mills and oh by the way I will stop into a wedding!
Lovin’ those chubby cheeks and the cardy! What a lovely little model and especially when she has been so unwell. Hope Elodie gets better quickly
I think we know that we ovespend on craft goodies as we still want to craft even if we don’t get time and that’s the next best thing! Hope Elodie recovers soon! Mark of a true model to work on though ill! Little Star!
I don’t knit, but I could start if it will deliver that level of cute. Simply adorable!
Gorgeous! Nothing like a home made cardi… and Elodie is so beautiful.
Gorgeous cardi and a far more gorgeous Elodie xx
Hi Corrie! Just wondering if you have ever had trouble uploading pictures to blogger? I keep getting “server rejected” error messages. Getting really frustrated.
I love that cardi Corrie, I’ll have to look out for that book. It’s almost as gorgeous as those cubby cheeks, she’s just the most perfect bonny babe!
What gorgous pictures. Miss Elodie suits her little cardi very well.
Will have to try moss stitch one time it looks really nice.

I enjoy your blogs regardless of the content, but I must say the crafty ones always fire me up to do something!!! Today I am putting on the needles a Baby Tricot knit for my little princess. Fingers crossed!!!! Oh – and I do love a chubba bubba. Mine were both one the larger size and I LOVE it!!! Too cute.:)
Elodie looks so snuggly! I’m sure she is thanking you for keeping her cozy and warm with her smiles.
