Earlier in the year I ‘won’ a Little People Nativity Scene on ebay. I had sooooo wanted one the year before after seeing it on Skye’s blog but I couldn’t find one anywhere. So I got it for my own little people and last week let them play with it. However, by the second day of play they had already lost Joseph and a wise man. Sure, I had some fill ins like the Little People bus driver or airline pilot but it wasn’t a good sign…………oh they were found later in the week under the couch!
So I’ve set it up high on the mantle and out of little hands. Now that might sound a little cruel but these are hard to find before Christmas and I would like it to last a bit longer than one Christmas. And the cutest thing is that when you press the angel the star lights up and plays a little song…………so cute!
So have you started decorating your house yet? This is all I’ve managed so far!
we have the nativity too. i keep it in the christmas box along with all our christmas books. we pulled it all out yesterday and put up the tree. the kids have loved playing the ‘silent night’ song on the stable (along with another very annoying drummer thing that thankfully gets packed in the box each year too!). Its beginning to feel a lot like Christmas around here! x

I am always finding lost Little People under the couch. Elodie will be gorgeous as baby Jesus.
Oh we have that set too. I fell in love with it several years ago and couldn’t stop playing with it when the girls were in bed. Still going strong with all pieces present.
I opened my new fabrics yesterday, thank you so much they are just so pretty. I’ve cut into one already but I must save enough to make a quilt.
Don’t you love it? I have one here for the grandkids to play with and have gotten one for each of the children’s homes. The little ones just love playing with them. There is a website to order more pieces – shepherds, camels, etc.
We have 2 of them, look out at Big W for one, or 4! Cate has her’s set up in her room, the other is packed away with the tree and other stuff, we will put that up on the 1st. I have a Willow Tree Nativity, no small hands are allowed to touch!
They are in the Kmart catalogue starting this Thurs for $29 if you want to nab a spare lol

We bought our first family Christmas tree mid November and put it up straight away as the toddler and I were too excited! I also made a wreath from brances of a tea tree bush, that’s already up and our non-moveable-stuck-together nativity scene is also out. I know it was too early but I did it for my little one.

I have a beautiful nativity set that I just love putting out every year. We always decorate on the 1st of Dec so I’d better get those boxes out and organise myself so that we can get to it after school on Weds!

I’ve a pile of LIttle People Xmas sets – LOVE THEM! We’ve just got the box out and will probably put them up this afternoon.
One year we lost Jesus. For months. When he was finally found, Henry told everyone that we knew that ‘we had found Jesus’. Needless to say, our church-going friends were completely thrilled and excited, but I had to explain and let them down gently……
I have one cookie jar on the bench that my daughter brought up to me ‘cos she is moving! Generally I don’t really feel Christmassy until December. I did buy the cutest little nativity set which lights up too and lives in a tiny suitcase, I’ll blog it sometime in December.
My mum has a gorgeous knitted nativity scene that the kids love. One of her friends from the tennis club used to make and sell them but she’s retired now – such a pity. It is really lovely and the kids can play with it without having to worry about breaking it.

I just loved your Nativity Set so much that when I saw it in the KMart catalogue this evening – which starts tomorrow – I called my local shop which had already sold out and then called the next closest one and they still had a few left. I never thought of going retail shopping on a Wednesday evening at 10pm but wow – I had the roads, carpark and store to myself and left 2 children and one Dad sleeping soundly in bed! I was happy to pay the current price of $39 so that I didn’t have to be outside the store tomorrow at 7am to get it at $29 but the best part of my evening was it scanned at the catalogue instead!! What a lucky day. Thanks Corrie for the inspiration! I can’t wait to see Lily’s face when she sees it tomorrow – she is soooo excited to be Mary in her Preschool Concert in a couple of weeks time!
