Thank you for all the birthday wishes for retro daddy! I’ll tell you about our dinner dramas when I hear back from the supermarket and food authority (it’s a bit of a gross story). Let’s just say we ended up going to our favourite sushi train and left the creamy mashed potato on the stove……….
But yesterday I enjoyed a few hours to myself in my sewing room. I now have a lovely babysitter who comes over for a few hours each week to give me a bit of time to myself. It’s heaven. So, after a quick trip to Spotlight, I came home motivated to get cracking on the cushion from Kellie’s gorgeous Worry Dolls pattern.
Selecting fabrics took me a while and then I got the hair wrong not once but twice. So overall I spent almost 1 1/2 hours just getting to this stage. I thought it was all perfect, I ironed it, I was so excited! And then I saw it……….waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I just wanted to cry…can you see what I did? I didn’t put the hair and head together properly so I’ve given her a wonky neck and you shouldn’t be able to see the change in fabrics.
So I’m thinking of giving her a turtle neck or peter pan collar to hide my whoopsie and hopefully this weekend I’ll get some free time to do the applique stitching.
Oh so cute! I think in the pattern there is a collar you could use that. I found fusing the doll off the cushion first a little easier. I love how you can make them custom!

Can you just cut another face and neck and pop them over the top of the ones you already have? Otherwise, I guess a colour would be the go.

I Just brought this pattern too, Think it will make great gifts, and the fact that you can individulise it is fun!I think a collar would be fine.
Why are they worry dolls? can you explain the purpose/use. I am thinking of those little Guatemalan worry dolls that are tiny scraps of fabric and wire in a tiny box and apparently you tell them your worries and place them under your pillow or back in the box and forget your worry as the doll will sort it out. Is this just a cuddle pillow for kids? BTW I cant see any problems with it. think it looks great

Our cakes are decorated with gusto, who doesn’t love a giant freckle on their slice?? That looks gorgeous, Corrie. Your collar idea is great even though I can’t really see the problem in the photo. YOu’ll see it every single time you look at the cushion though, won’t you? Stuff like that drives me crazy.
Dinner sounds like….. an adventure! I hope it ends well and am glad that sushi train came to the rescue once again. There’s a yummy Sushi Roll in the city that we love.
