Trying to find a place fancy enough to treat your mum to a special lunch for her birthday but where you can bring all the little people and feel comfortable isn’t always easy! So today we hit the jackpot with my restaurant choice – upmarket but still very friendly and welcoming. A kids menu which includes pizza with chips on top (well that was always going to be a winner, wasn’t it?)
traditional italian pizzas for the big people – I loved being able to see the dough being thrown up in the air, the pizzas going in the oven and then arriving on our table.
super friendly waiters who smile at all the kids even when they are running around underfoot (not mine of course – actually my little ones were on best behaviour today and I was very proud). I was a little worried that going after church was going to be too much for one day but they were all good as gold.
The magic of pizza, lemonade and ice-cream.
and of course the best part of the day was having all the family together and catching up….what more can you ask for! So my mum had a great birthday lunch, keira sang happy birthday (the version where ‘you look like a monkey and smell like one too’)
and we came home to snuggle up on the couch and watch ‘cloudy with a chance of meatballs’ under a quilt instead of nap time. What a perfect sunday afternoon. We’ll definitely be back up there again and my only advice is book in advance because it books out quickly for sunday lunch!
We went there last week and it was great and the food yum yum! A little treasure!!!
You could have waved as you drove past my house!
We love Cavallino – Giovanni Pilu really has done his homework on that one. If you’re lucky you may even get to meet him on the days he works!
I met him whilst gazing at the antipasto bar and the meat/cheese fridge.
Oh yum. I love finding new pizza places. That restaurant looks fantastic, and close to my place as well! Woohoo! Might have to give it a try xx
It sounds like a great day Cor. I bet your mum loved it.
Ab
ha! I guess ‘would you like fries with that’ was a bit redundant. A certain big person in my house (not me) reckons that sounds like a great pizza!
Looks like you had a beautiful day! Great watched that movie choice for a snuggly afternoon. We’ve watched it too a few weeks ago:)
Sounds like a lovely day Corrie! Hope your Mum enjoyed it too!
Happy Birthday to your Mum Corrie – looks likeyou had a great time – I love sourcing places that are accomodating for the kids:)
Happy Birthday to your mum. How wonderful for lunch to spend it all together! I am sure my kids would love a pizza topped with chips too. I love that last photo of your mum and Keira, she cracks me up with her expressions.
Your kids are so beautiful.
Happy birthday Mum!
I was thinking that it might have been the restuarant near Liss’ house x
