yay another handmade market under my belt! I really enjoy doing handmade market. It has a lovely vibe, there are always familiar faces and old school friends to say hi to (that’s canberra for you!). We left the hotel at 8am and got a rude shock with the cold air…my poor little children who have never been in such cold weather before and were having fun blowing cold air out of their mouths!
Straight to the venue and setting up the table in our lovely spot and getting ready! Here is keira manning the stall for me (before doors opened at 10am) while retro daddy ducked into the city for a jug for my knitting needles. I knew I’d forget something!
Keira then had a mini photo session with the Canberra Times and they rang for all of our details so I’ll be sure to post the photo from tomorrow’s paper! I had to make keira look all wintery with one of my hats and katia’s blanket wrapped around her and she is very excited about being in the paper! Here she is at the end of the day enjoying a princess cupcake from katia.
So thank you to Handmade for such a lovely market and of course to all the lovely people who stopped by to say hello, have a browse or buy something! One of the best things about markets for me is being able to talk to people (ok and also get out of the house) and really enjoy myself. Everyone is so friendly and lovely and oh if you have a little baby in a carrier on the front of you then expect me to go a little bit crazy over your baby! I just can’t help myself!!!!!!!
I totally wish I lived near you, I want to go to handmade, and shop at your booth, and see all the awesomeness that was there. keira is adorable! she looks quite happy and proud to be at the booth.
What a fun, happy stall. Keira looks like she’s having a fabulous time — and a cupcake must’ve been the icing on the cake! 😉
You are such an inspiration. This is something I have always wanted to do. Your stall just looks amazing and I think it’s great that the whole family went together. Good job!!!

Corrie, My family wasn’t supportive of the 3rd and we have 7. I get the lecture all the time off my mum.
I have friends who don’t ‘cope’ with two.
The last time my sisters had a go I said..just because you, couldn’t ‘cope’ with 7 doesn’t been I don’t!
Even my niece had a go with my last pregnancy. I had a 13 year old tell me… Oh how will you cope with all those kids!
What really annoys me is when I need a little help and support the comment is well you decided to have so many! What is with that! Even if you only have one or two children you still need some support at times.
You will do wonderfully as a mum of many if that is what you want.
A lady with 4 children once told me, as I was considering having number 4,’you never regret the ones you have but you do regret the ones you don’t.’
In an ideal world I would of spaced my babies out a little better so I could really enjoy each of their baby hoods but i wouldn’t change how many I have.
Oh another thing I’ve said to my mother… which one do you suggest I shouldn’t of had? I know she loves every single one of them despite her comments 😉 and wouldn’t want to give any of them away.

Great Idea – I love how everyone is smiling at markets instead of bored teenagers scanning your items at big department stores. There’s nothing better than getting to meet the person who actually makes the item face to face.
