we’re home again and it feels soooooo good to be back in my dressing gown and slippers and back online!! I do love melbourne, a little chilly this weekend but a great city that to me equals shopping and food……….. and I did both justice! Here is a red velvet cupcake (oh my I could do a whole post about how delicious they are) I enjoyed on saturday during a little break we took from our crafting session.
I think it will take me a few blog posts to tell you all about sew it together and melbourne! It was just such a great weekend full of old and new friends, craft, shopping, food, chatting (oh the chatting) and fun! Sheridan outdid herself with her organisational skills and we all owe her a huge thank you for the amazing weekend she organised for us. I’ll definitely be signing up again for 2011.
We were only down for 4 days but they flew by. Keira just adored spending time with her grandma jill and was her cheeky self. Here she is enjoying a pink neenish tart a little too much!
Retro daddy did a great job babysitting for me and while I enjoyed a little break from family duties it was soooo nice to have breakfast again as a family this morning (when we got our flight times wrong and had an extra hour to kill this morning). You’d think we were in paris with the chairs outside, but no just the laurent patisserie in albert park.
and how perfect to finish my crafty weekend with a spot of shopping at wool baa as well! Too perfect really and photos of my loot to come once I get it all out to oohh and ahhh over it.
I don’t think we’ll fly with the twins again anytime soon (think major tillie tantrums and an embarrassed me) but we had a great time and a little break from the everyday routine. I am sooo exhausted, am half way through all the washing and looking forward to taking it easy over the next few days and will share more photos and stories with you here……
Oh I love Laurent….. and I am with you re: the flying. Layla will have to be about 4.5 before I fly again.
Hi, love your blog, and this post just makes me go shopping in melbourne. Your children are gorgeous! It sounds like you had a fab time in Melb. Come and visit us at “my little jedi” and say hi xx

Ohhh Laurent! You’re making me homesick. Oh well, I’ll get my fix in October…Adelaide just doesn’t quite cut it. Glad you had a great time.
so glad you had a wonderful time at Sew It Together, I thought about all of you guys all weekend. Nothing will make me pull out of the next one (if there is one).
Oh Corrie, can’t believe you were in melbourne….I love Laurent and am always there as I grew up in Albert Park and mum and dad still live there….I’m sure I would have recognised your children from your blog! Glad to hear you had a nice time and can’t wait to see your purchases. Susie
ooo! oo! I bought one of those cupcakes for the train on the way home!
Corrie, you have the most gorgeous family!
I’m a Melbourne chick so your post warmed me from all angles. My fave city on the planet (with Albert Park right up there). So glad you enjoyed xx
Oh and I adore Tillie’s top – adorable!
I just discovered your gorgeous blog! What beautiful posts

Lovely to meet you Corrie, and glad you all had a great time (bar the flights!). Nic x
Those cupcakes look good! Cake, craft and shopping – sounds like the perfect weekend!
Glad you had a great time. We stayed in the city on a short week long break about two years ago and had breaky each morning at Laurent pattisserie. DIVINE!
Looks and sounds like you hada great weekend – flying with two year olds is not fun – I applaude you for doing it with two.
Oooh, that looks amazing, I am heading to Albert park for a Fun Run on June 6th, never been there before. It looks like a place for me though 😉
SIT was soooooooo much fun!
It was lovely to meet you Corrie, and I can’t wait to catch up again next year in Sydney. We’ll all play pass the parcel with your new baby!
Hugs,
Kelly
Glad you had such a fabulous time! I often forget that you have 3 little ones (and toddler twins) to love, play with and feed on top of juggling everything else you do. Always inspiring! xo m.
Glad your home safely, it was so lovely to spend some time with you:)
Thanks for all the advice;)
Oh i missed this post, adorable!! We were very lucky our twinnies flew well, i can assure you, NO ONE wants the family with 4 little children sitting near them!! Did she Tillie have ear popping issues, if you’re not breastfeeding at the time, exciting reason for them to suck on a lolly pop & they’ll love the next flight. I’m sure handsome Retro Daddy got lots of attention & the flight attendants ignored you?? The amount of times my husband gets compliments about our children, while i’m sitting next to him or clearly i’m their mother/ his wife, yet i’m the invisible breader!! Love Posie
You’re right it does look like paris in one of the pics… ah my fave city! Melbourne does look brilliant…. I’m struggling to decide which city I’d want to emigrate to (Perth, Melbourn, Sydney, Brisbane) and posts like this just want to make me pick Melbourne! I love cafe culture and there’s such a strong craft scene by all accounts…. only think is I’m wanting out of the UK because of the WEATHER! If it’s cold out there I’m not so sure ;)… mind our spring is still colder than your winter!! te he!
