spoil finn day

what a night! I had just started to do some quilting, keira was happily playing with her new junior scrabble, retro daddy was doing the groceries when things with finn turned bad! I’m trying to forget it all but we called the ambulance and were raced off and spent a few hours at the hospital with him.

my finnie

Poor finnie, he just hadn’t been himself all week, getting over a tummy bug and must have come down with something else and the fever just took over him! I’d been giving him panadol during the day but by night time he wasn’t responding to me, was totally lifeless, eyes half open and making funny noises till we got to hospital. Thankfully he is almost back to his normal old self this morning! He just wants to be picked up and cuddled all day and calls out mama whenever I’m out of sight, dear little thing.

quick quilting

We got home at midnight and are totally zonked! I need some serious quilting and calming craft tonight just to forget about it all…..so the binding wasn’t done last night but yesterday afternoon I did quilt this lovely japanese fabric from a few years back. It’s waiting for some bright red and white binding and is the perfect playmat size. Retro daddy, bless him, asked me did I piece all the little squares together…..um no but it’s such a pretty fabric!

  2. Oh Corrie, I can not imagine how you are feeling today after such a distressing night.

  3. Eek – hope today is very calm and boring for you all!

  4. Poor Finn! And you must have had such a fright. I’m glad everything is okay now – do they know what caused it?

The play quilt loos great, fantastic idea for a fairly easy project.

  7. Oh my goodness Corrie, how scary for you both. Finn must have caught something along with the tummy bug and it just took over his immune system. Things like that can happen at anytime when we have kids and it is very scary isnt it. I hope it doesnt happen again to him. He must feel exhausted along with you too. It seems a cup of tea and some quilting time is required for you to relax! Lots of hugs xxx Sue

  8. Goodness how awful! It’s amazing how sick they can suddenly get and how quick they can recover. Not nice but glad to hear you are cheering yourself up with some quilting. I thought you’d pieced it all too! It’s so real patchwork looking. Have a lovely quiet night tonight!

  29. Poor little guy, that must have been a scare! I am glad to hear he is better now, hope he recovers completely soon. The quilt is gorgeous. Love the colors and can see the kids playing on it!

  30. Oh poor fin, that must have been awful for all of you. It’s amazing how quickly they go downhill and how quickly they bounce back.

  31. Glad to hear Finn is on the mend… sounds like febrile seizure… I know the terror of them, my two oldest have had them… we’re keeping our fingers crossed that our youngest will be safe from them…. as scary as they are, know that they are a defense against the fever and that children outgrow them when their bodies are mature enough to respond better to fever. It’s more strain on mom’s and dad’s than for the little one’s who suffer them… chin up, know that he is safe and well, and try not to dwell on it too much… quilting is definitely in order… take care Corrie ๐Ÿ˜‰

  32. Oh my goodness, I hope he is fully recovered. That’s frightening. x
