You have just got to love a project you can knit up and finish in 24 hours without too much effort. This little cap sleeved tee was a breeze to knit, mine is a slim line version and I think we could go up a size actually.
but keira loves it…not that you can tell by her face. We had just finished with some serious hair detangling before church and I was not her favourite person when I asked her to do some modelling.
Pattern is here and whipped up in Bendigo’s 8ply cotton (colour is inferno)…..I’m going to start it in a pink today and try the next size up too. Bendigo’s cotton really needs a smaller needle than recommended so I used a 3.75mm knit picks (now called knit pro according to the packet) 40cm circular.
oh and this pattern is perfect for a beginner as you knit in one piece and just cast on, cast off, simple 1×1 rib and all knit rows for the rest! too easy!

Hi Corrie, that looks cute and I was sitting here wondering what to do with my pink Bendi 8 ply cotton. I bought it for a ballet cardigan but have done two already and was getting tired of the pattern. So when you say you might go up a size, do you mean the 6-7, because the smallest size in the pattern link is 3-5. That’s a big jump in ages for Keira. I’m considering making it for Miss 7, who’s tall for her age but very skinny. No other word than skinny for it despite the amount she eats.
Perhaps I’ll wait your judgment on the next size up for Keira. Don’t want t waste my money if pattern won’t suit recipient.
It turned out so nicely Corrie. I find the Bendigo 8 ply knits up much nicer on a smaller needle too. I think it suits Keira, she looks gorgeous. Little girls hair is always a drama in this house, especially when it is knotty so I can totally relate.

Lovely work, you make knitting seem so easy (as a non knitter, i don’t believe it’s that easy!!) The colour is ace & you just need to add that giant liberty floral penny wheel brooche now & it’s super stylish. Can you tell from my abundence of comments it’s freezing in Canberra, i haven’t left the house, 7C today with gale force winds. A lot of indoor hula hooping going on today.
I love that you spend ages on her hair. My girls have dead straight hair, alas, a lot of it, long & each child handles the ‘pampering’ wtih different levels of frustration. I still comb conditioner through the 10y.o. hair so it’s perfectly detangled. You have a long road ahead of you. Needless to say after 3 girls with long hair, the boy keeps his super short!! Makes him very easy to love. Oh the days of wedging 3y.o. girls between my knees to brush their hair, memories!!

It looks lovely, I bought the pattern too, as I have some bendigo cotton to use up. I am new to knitting though – did you just use 3.75 mm needles, or did you change the gauge as in the pattern?
