brotherly love

yesterday we welcomed a new little brother to the family…..an overlocker!!!!!!!!! pretty cute, no? I like that I can pick up the phone, order it and have it here the same day without leaving home!!!! nice service, nice prices so its win win and I can have nice neat seams and easy nappies! I was really taken with the easy threading which is oh so important in overlocker land and an instructional dvd, sigh if only everything in life came with that dvd…..

and since it feels like the middle of summer here in sydney at the moment, I whipped up a quick skirt to potter around the house in. Nothing fancy, won’t win me a spot on project runway but its cute, comfy, light, quick and cost me next to nothing!

I think I’ll whip up another one today a wee bit smaller!

  1. Wow, that is good service. I’m loving being able to shop without leaving the house. It makes such a difference when you have little ones.

  2. Congratulations on your new family member . I’m sure he will settle in very nicely !

  3. Oh how exciting! You’re going to love it — especially for sewing for the children!!!

  4. Sensational service for the overlocker. I would love a dvd if I used one too. I like your skirt, the fabric looks very light and comfy. Have fun sewing your nappies.

  5. Welcome to the family. Very exciting.

  6. Hello Mr Brother! Nice to meet you 😉 I’m sure you will be loved to bits.

  8. Fantastic :) I can’t wait for an overlocker (she says wistfully) maybe the big man in the red suit will deliver as a surprise at Christmas? .. Love your skirt, any tutorials’ for a quick adult sized one?? :)

  9. Mel, coming soon! its from a japanese craft book and all measurements so I’ll share it soon. need to work out the sizing here as I made large thinking I’d be an asian large but its pretty roomy and could have made the smaller size but oh so easy!

    Corrie:)

  10. What model is your other Brother? I love both of my Brothers (a really really basic one and my XR6600) – can’t make out what your’s is though? :) Great machines in my opinion

  11. He’s very cute. I recently inherited a husqylock from my aunt. It’s about 15 years old. It’s cute too but a bit overwhelming – have no idea how to thread it! Might stick with mastering my 1973 husqy plain old sewing machine first! :-)

  12. hey Corrie, congrats on the overlocker!
I am looking for new machine and overlocker. may I ask what models you have?
hope everyone in your house is feeling better. how’s your mum?
