Just as there is a slow food movement, I think there should be a slow craft movement and cross stitch is most definitely a slow craft. I was inspired by this lady’s beautiful cross stitch and rummaged around my craft room to find unfinished cross stitch projects as well as lots of lovely cross stitch charts to start…..
So I started on these lovely ladies and 2 nights later this is my progress……slooooooow…..but very satisfying! The pattern comes from CrossStitcher magazine January 2005 if you can get your hands on a copy. I have a desk lamp balancing behind me on the window sill to give me plenty of light and my glasses to deal with the fine work but I am enjoying it.

Much as I love cross-stitch I am asleep within a dozen stitches everytime I start. Hence there are so many unfinished cross-stitches in my house.
Hopefully I don’t win because I don’t have the patience for x stitch but I love looking at it and admire those who can. That pattern is supper cute. Good luck with it! xox

Gee Corrie you have done a fantastic job with that cross stitch. My mother in law taught me this craft and she has done soo many but me I am sad to say I still have one waiting for me to finish. One isn’t so bad but when I started it for my best friends girl she was only a baby and this year will be two.(oops) I should get it out again, maybe tonight!

Cross Stitcher coming to out herself. I actually think that my first ever blog post was of my cross stitches and would you believe it if I told you that once upon a time it was the only craft that I did an any spare moment. I would LOVE to win – although I really do love the one that you are working on at the moment! That is the one that I would really really love it is just too cute!

Adorable! And cross stitch certainly is a slow craft. I have made one for each of the children with their name and birth date. Since I started quilting though I’ve left teh cross stitch to one side.

Oh, these dolls are so cute! I love x stitch! Almost all posts on my blog are about x stitches. I try to finish all my projects but Istill have so many unfinished ones! I would love to win another pattern for my collection! Thank you for your post, it is very inspiring!
Haven’t done any cross stitch in a while now but my mother in law is always doing little pieces for my girls and she would love this prize!

That looks lovely, even unfinished. I like cross stitch, but now do it in very good daylight unless the Aida fabric is a fairly large weave.
I walk past the Crewel Gobelin shop to get to the station and often stop to admire the pieces in their window. I’ve bought a couple of small bits there. Lovely service and don’t you think the name is so clever?
Sadly, a couple aren’t even started and one is not finished. Must get back to them when it’s warm enough to sit outside in good light.

They are gorgeous! I am not sure I have the patience for cross stitch, I tried it years ago … and they are still sitting there unfinished. Crochet however, I can do while watching TV.
Love the dolls! I haven’t cross stitched since I was a kid. My mum used to do all these beautiful (very complicated) shells that would take her months.

i used to do cross stitch sans the kids, i love them there is something about them and when your finished its like a piece of history has been written for another generation! I always take my cross stitch bag on holidays in the hope that i will get a bit more of my many half started projects done! I need some more inspiration!
