More sizes coming, try to get your tension right otherwise you’ll end up with a lace doily on your head and trust me I’ve been there and have the hat to prove it. I used the wrong end of my double-ended crochet hooks and you’ll look more little house on the prairie than the look you’re going for.!
You’ll need 8 ply cotton ( I love Bendido’s cotton, the colours are lovely and its oh so soft and did I mention the price, a bargain) and a size 5 crochet hook.
1st round- Ch4 and sl st into a ring. Ch3 and dc11 so that you have what looks like 12 dc in a ring.
2nd round – ch3 and 2dc into each dc of the previous round.
3rd round – repeat round 2
4th round – ch3 and *2dc in next stitch then 1dc in following, repeat from * for the rest of the round
5th -17th rounds ch 3 and dc in each dc of previous round.
18th ch3 and 2 dc in each dc of previous round (this is you ruffle round). If you want a longer ruffle just do a 19th & 20th round of dc in each dc of previous round. Otherwise finish here and weave in ends after 18th round.
voila you have a hat that will fit from 2-5 year olds…..baby and adult size coming soon…………oh and you know the drill, I share this pattern because I love you all so please don’t make it or reproduce it for profit because that wouldn’t be very nice!
