I’ve had a very productive weekend…with a few skirts and dresses whipped up. The freshcut FQ’s were crying out to be used straight away so I made a little skirt for miss keira……
Then I thought a dolls quilt would be cute so I whipped this up last night….I just need more energy to make the binding, but it was quick and easy.
I’m trying to finalise a class list for my store and think a dolls quilt would be good for a total beginner quilter. what do you think? You can at least cover piecing, sandwiching, quilting and binding on a Sunday!
and how much does this $3.49/metre flannel from Spotlight remind you of Cath Kidston! I’m thinking cute pj pants and appliqued tee’s for my little girls! I took the whole bolt at that price, well there was only 4m left on the bolt but it sounds so much more dramatic!
What can I say I love them all. I think thats an excellent idea about classes for the dolls quilt!!
Fantastic Corrie! Dolls quilt for a total beginner is a great idea, lots of skills and confidence to get stuck in and have a go at home. Maybe sell kits too? Or help with choosing fabrics? xox
Wow Corrie, it’s all very cute. You always get so much done. I can’t wait to see your shop open.
The dolls quilt is so very cute! I love Keira’s new skirt too, so pretty. I love that fabric and what a bargain, cant wait to see the items your going to make out of it.
That is such a lovely little quilt. Do you stay up to the wee small hours or are you super woman? Skirts and quilts in one night! You are truely amazing.
Super Productive! I think the doll’s quilt is an excellent beginners project – yours looks really great!
Corrie everything looks great. A doll quilt sounds like a good idea for a project
Beautiful work as always Corrie, I especially love that skirt for Keira. Super idea for the flannel – I have some I bought last year from spotlight and think I might just do the same for my girls!
Yes a doll’s quilt is a great idea for an absolute beginner. I am very keen to get into quilting and would love the chance to start on something beautiful which isn’t too daunting. I only have boys but my sister is about to have a little girl and would love to make a dolls quilt for my niece. When can I sign up?
Everything (as always) looks great.
Sounds like you are having fun planning for the relaunch of the shop and a Dolls Quilt sounds perfect for an afternoon of sewing!
That’s funny: I never quilted before and just the other day I thought I could start with making a dolls quilt for my little girl, to practice. So yes, I think it’s an excellent idea! You make lovely things by the way. Cute skirt!
That dolls quilt is gorgeous and perfect for a new sewer!
I love your quilt. Clever girl whipping that up in a night!
I bought some gorgeous flannete at Spotlight too, looked like a Liberty print I love.
The quilt is just adorable. I love it.
A doll quilt is a fantastic idea for a one-day beginner’s class. They should all get it finished!
Love ‘take the whole bolt’ too. Makes you feel like a ‘real’ sewer!
I love the last pic of the flannelette – I bought some to make fitted cot sheets for my daughter. so easy to make!
Hi Corrie
I have recently come across your blog and am loving all of your crafty goodness.
You always make such beautiful things and I love your fabric choices.
