I remember a time (pre-children) when we hardly ate lunch at home on a weekend because we loved to go out shopping for ourselves (ok I enjoyed the shopping) and eating a nice lunch out…..these days we don’t get out for a meal as much as we’d like too but when we do it follows the same format. It usually starts out well….you order straight away and keep your little miss entertained until the food arrives
after the plates are cleared you might get a bit of time with some happy play
there is always something to play with…sugar sachets, salt and pepper shakers, chopsticks
and then before you can say lets get the bill it all descends into a big mess and keira usually can’t sit still and is ready to go home…here she is today reminding the chopsticks who’s the boss and signalling that its time to go home.
hee hee. Whenever my husband are out with the boys (which is quite regularly) we say to each other ‘why do we keep doing this’??
Oh the familiar story of ‘Let’s go out for a relaxing bite to eat…. with a 2/3 year old’. Never fails to descend into squalor and screams.I know the scene very well.
Good on you for keeping on trying!
love that last photo! it’s hilarious!
oh that last photo! That face!
Yes we know that well!
That last photo is just priceless!
You are very good taking 3 yr olds out for lunch. Isabelle would never have sat there for that long at that age, and probably would have pulled the same face too, although she is still cute doing it. I cant seem to find your email address Corrie, but it was the Cotton Friend, the second mag you showed on your blog.
Classic Shot! I’ve so much to look forward to!
Hilarious! I love the last pic.
LOL, I love that face! Yeah, eating out is such a luxury. I wish the wait staff understood the fact that there is a limited amount of time before the kid gets cranky.
Hilarious! Yes, thank goodness for sugar sachets!
This looks a little like the morning & lunch we had today with our 14 month old. I think he knew that today was ‘mummy’s day’ so he turned into Mr Cranky Pants. But we survived… just!
x
OMG Corrie ,
i can so relate to your post, that could be my kids any day of the week. it used to be ok with just L, she would act like a lady and drink baby cino’s, but with mr J it’s just all too hard, i just don’t bither any more
So true! That last picture is priceless
Oh yes indeed. A very true post to the people that can truly understand the toddler outing.
That last photo is classic!! Love it. Your meals out sound just like ours!
That last photo should be brought out at her 21st! It’s great.
