crocheting for the cause

yep no need to mention where this new crocheted blankie will be going…I hope it will keep someone warm and ease some pain…..I’m loving the colours which are all just odd balls grabbed from my stash in a hurry.

My mum who is flat on her back for a few weeks after an operation on her leg (again) has also offered to crochet one too which is great and will keep her occupied! If a whole blanket freaks you out and you’re on ravelry then get involved with making 12 inch squares that can be knitted, crocheted or quilted…or why not organise your own blanket amongst friends….

  1. I think that blanket will help raise some spirits. It’s cheerful.

  2. Gorgeous. I haven’t done a granny square blanket for years – am tempted!

  3. That looks so nice Corrie. I’m sure it will bring great comfort to someone who needs it.

  4. The crochet blanket looks great and I love all those colors. I hope your mum is okay after her operation. Crocheting will keep her mind off it for a bit anyway. I am in the process of knitting my 3rd square now and hope to have at least 10 finished by the next week and a bit. My mum and friend are helping out too.

  5. Hand made crocheted rugs are the best! I am sure it will give plenty of comfort to its new owner.

  6. Great Idea. I was reading someone’s blog the other day and a woman who lost everything in the Canberra fires treasured the donated handmade items the most. Your blanket will be most treasured I’m sure. Thanks for your comment and I also am a day late with the swap and will be posting tomorrow. Di

  7. What stunning colors. Im sure the new owner will be very grateful.

  8. How lovely!

I am also collecting items for handmade help – if anyone wants to drop off/or me to collect, sing out.
