I went along to my first patternmaking class on saturday and realised I’m glad I paid attention in maths class. I was dividing this, adding a bit here, doing 45 degree angles, erasing here, ruling there…my homework is to make a sleeve block. I’m loving my class, my japanese teacher who goes a mile a minute, the fact I get out of the house on a saturday morning for 2 hours on my own and get a taste of patternmaking with other like minded ladies and the fact its not as hard as I thought it would be!
oh wow!! Can I ask where you’re doing the course or who it’s through? I’ve always wanted to do one!
Corrie – that sure looks difficult to me! Wow – looks like a building plan or something…LOL!
That is something i have always wanted to do! Hope you keep us posted on your progress.
I’m jealous. I loved patternmaking when I studied it 9 years ago. I was so excited to finally find a creative outlet for all the pure and applied maths I’d studied at school and uni.
There’ll be no stopping you now. With a little bit of patternmaking knowledge you’ll be able to whip up all sorts of children’s clothes for your gorgeous babies.
