I love Saturday afternoons when Keira goes to her little swimming lesson and I get some time at home with sleeping babies……today I took some $3.99 white pillowcases from Spotlight, some trims and in an hour whipped these up!
I just love them!!!!! the red and pink ric rac is from my stash, red gingham bias binding for 65c a metre at spotlight and the blue ribbon white lace trim was a find from a garage sale ages ago when I had time on a saturday morning to go to garage sales!
That’s just perfect! I bought myself a plain white doona cover at the oppy yesterday and it has pink embroidered flowers at the bottom but there were no pillowcases. I might just have to buy some plain white ones and jazz them up.
The simple ideas are often the best. I might be pinching this one. Wouldn’t these be great decorated with scraps left over from quilts as a matching set.
They are gorgeous. I love them.
gorgeous! you clever thing you : )
Thanks for the fantastic idea Corrie. I am sure they would make great gifts too.
Great idea!
My Tilly was admiring a (quite awful) bed set up at Myer the other day. She liked it because it had all sorts of ‘fancy’ trim every where. While I’m not prepared to get the that set, I’m pretty sure she would be happy with something like these instead.
These look gorgeous Corrie, great idea!
They look great Corrie.
they are just lovely – what a great idea!
Gorgeous covers, prettier than most of the other ones at Spotlight! Good use of your me time too, you’re very clever.
Genius!
Happy New Year Corrie – love the new blog look and all of your lovely projects! Can’t believe you’re getting so much done with the kids. I’m struggling to get back into it!
What a great idea, they look so cute.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! I’m dashing off to get me some pillowcases this very week. You are a very clever girl!!
So effective Corrie – love the red and pink trims – just lovely!
These are just gorgeous!! And what a great idea you have given me!!
Wow, these look so nice. What a great idea. I can begin to see a home for the metres and metres of ribbon and ric rac that I seem to accumulate.
