the quilt and late night modelling

well for 17 of 30 of the macro challenge here is a quilt that I started a while ago, did some hand quilting, folded neatly and put away thinking i had forever to finish it…but I don’t so out it has come today to be finished and packed up for sydney….

proof its been neatly folded away and put in a safe place

and this is keira modelling a toddler version of the umbilical cord hat ( no suprise its made from bendigo rustic 8ply)…I made some mathematical variations to get a larger size and keira still needs a bigger size so a few more calculations and I’ve cast on 104 stitches to make a keira size….

we took the photo at night and its a well known fact that keira doesn’t have a strict bedtime routine….I think its a combination of her not liking to go to sleep alone (not for long since she’ll be sharing with 2 little people before she knows it), retro daddy coming home very late every night and me not being a strict mummy…but we do have fun..

  1. Great looking quilt Corrie and Keira is looking as gorgeous as ever

  2. You’re a great Mummy and besides a strict Mummy is not automatically a good Mummy!!

The quilt looks great, are you stitching in the ditch or something more fancy pants?

Woo Hoo not long till you’re up for a visit in Sydney!

PS We talked about you yesterday…all good of course!!!

  3. Love the quilt. And Keira looks so cute in the hat.

You know what? I feel the same way. I want to have Lotta Jansdotter autograph my books and asked my husband if he thought that was crazy. She is going to be at that market for the next several weekends, and I want to go back to buy more stuff. The books that she has there is autographed already.

  4. That quilt is going to be gorgeous!

  5. No strict bedtime here either….basically whenever we decide we have had enough of the fun, and we need to clean up or something….then James is off to bed (still takes up to an hour to get him to sleep though, grrrrr

  6. My motto “do what work for you”. Patrick didn’t have a strict bedtime for ages and slept with us quite often too. I think he has turned out pretty well adjusted. I enjoyed the time with him too. He made the transition to his own bed fine and still joins us most mornings for chats and cuddles which is really nice. They will be grown up before we know it. Make the most of it.

  7. I love the fabrics in your quilt, there are some there that I recognise! Good luck with the handquilting, I’m still going with mine. And going and going and going…
