I love my madeleine tin. It brings back all the memories of retro daddy living in paris and our saturdays spent shopping. I was living and working in london and the highlight of the month was always when I got to go to paris and shop – and see retro daddy of course. We’d walk everywhere, have a baguette for lunch, stop in for a little wine or kir royale in the late afternoon and eat out for dinner. That is what I call living. Fun times back then. We were both in our mid 20’s, working hard during the week and just living a good life. This is me enjoying a kir royale in those days. Oh to be young and pretty again.
If you don’t have a madeleine tin don’t worry. these would make great mini muffins too. Just give them a go.
3/4 cup plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup sugar
grated zest of 1/2 orange
2 eggs
2 Tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 Tbsp butter, melted and cooled
WooOOoo! Look at you girl! Gorgeous. No wonder Retro daddy swept you off the market!
Thanks for the Madeling recipe. I may just have to give it a go – great weather in Sydney for it right now.
Hi Retromummy. Oh yes, to be young and pretty in Paris. The memories!
I have my Grandma’s Madeline tin. It’s about 80 years old, beautifully shaped in the way those old things always are. And thanks to you, I now have a new recipe to go with it.
Don’t think you have changed much! And Kir Royale – lovely way to celebrate the day!
Thanks for the recipe – I even have a
madelaine tin – unused so far…
Mmmmmm they look nice x
The Madeline’s are so lovely. I have my grandmother’s madeline tin – I must try out your recipe.
The photo of you is so pretty…and you still are! x
Oh your stories of days in Paris and London are so exciting! What a great experience to have in your twenties… so romantic too! I haven’t travelled, so I find hearing details from people who have, fascinating.
A beautiful pic of you Corrie, you really haven’t changed though, just your hair is shorter. I’m sure you must cherish those snaps, as they have the key to take you right back to that moment. Just lovely :o)
And the madeleines sound delicious xo
You’re still young and pretty… but sadly not in Paris. What a beautiful early-romance setting for you and the husbie!! x
I too once bought a Maddie tin in PARIS.
And ALSO for 7 years its been too precious to use.
How Maddie are we?
Thankyou for recipe
