This post is brought to you by Allen’s Cheekies
Every 8 weeks I head off for a few hours and get my hair done. It’s a little luxury that I enjoy. Getting a cut and colour always makes me feel like a new woman. Last week I went for a bit of a change and had my usual foils with a semi permanent. Mmmmm just to spice things up a bit. I sit and read the magazines, enjoy a drink, bring out my knitting, watch everyone having their hair done, enjoy not having people ask me to do things for them and just look forward to walking out with fabulous hair……until I have to wash it and style it myself. Tell me I’m not the only person who loves hairdresser hair and the way they get it just so.
My other little treat is getting my toes done. I blame my mum. She always loved visiting the beautician when I was growing up and as the years went on she loved getting manicures and pedicures. I had to ditch the manicure because I also do the dishes and am always using my hands and break a nail but my toes. Now that is something that I can usually keep looking nice. Well except last week when I broke off some shellac with the vacuum cleaner. Really shouldn’t be doing the vacuuming should I? So it was hairdresser one day and toes the next…………….two of my favourite treats together. Imagine if I did them on the same day….pure luxury. Some of you would think nothing of it but negotiating that time out of the house without the little people is hard work.
I usually like to take a little snack with me to keep my energy levels up because of course you are exerting lots of energy when you indulge at the hairdresser or nail salon. No, not really but it usually takes over 2 hours for my hair to be done. Today my treat of choice was a twin pack of Allen’s Cheekies jellies. These babies are delicious. Fruity, juicy, sweet and chewy with soft centres and they come in a nice little portion sized bag. And you get two bags in one! I hadn’t bought the twin pack before but I see the benefit – one at the hairdressers and one at home. And of course for those times when you just want a bit more, no more tears because you have a second bag there ready to go.
I popped the twin pack in my handbag and had one pack while sitting under the heat with a head full of foils and then had the second pack when I got home………………..
But note to self, keep them in your handbag. No one else needs to see what lollies are in your bag and you don’t want to share these. My little people can hear the opening of a lolly bag from a mile away……and how can you say no to a face like that. He has mastered the little give me give me hand gesture and is able to negotiate that way.
To share the love I have a Westfield voucher for $100 for you to go along and get your nails and a new pair of sandals. Or maybe it’s time for a cut and blow dry? Two things are always better than one. Something that is a treat for you. You deserve it. So what will it be? You tell me and I’ll pick a winner who gets to head off for a little treat at their nearest Westfield. There are also 10 runner up prizes of Allen’s Cheekies…….full terms of my giveaways are here and entries close next Monday 30th September 2013.
