looking through things

Next weekend I’m off on another Tim Coulson photography course and I can’t wait. I’ve got the Olympus OM-D ready (thank to Olympus) and a few lenses (thanks to my dad) and looking forward to taking better photos.

One of the things that I’ve been putting into action is looking through things and taking photos from different angles. It means you capture beautiful pictures of beautiful people like these ones.

Butter wouldn’t melt…………….this girl just continues to surprise and make me proud. We started a new playgroup today and she was loving it from the moment we got out of the car. By the time we were up and dancing to the wiggles a boy had found her and they were holding hands for the rest of the time, dancing under the parachute and squealing. It was just so lovely. The playgroup is run by the early intervention service near us and is until we get accepted into their program (waiting lists, I’m learning a lot about them) and has just made our thursday mornings so much better……………..

  1. Oh Corrie yes the waiting lists….seems like we are always waiting for something!

Corrie, you have just made my day. This has to be the most beautiful photo of Elodie, what a treasure. Thanks for sharing. :)

  3. My 3.5 year old went to an early intervention playgroup and now attends one day a week by himself! It’s wonderful! He has autism. I am not sure if that’s what elodie has but I hope you and elodie get as much out of it as we do!

Isn’t it amazing the difference the ‘right’ group makes for our special little ones :) My heart ached for you when the other group you tried she wasn’t ready for. We found that given the opportunities they will naturally link up with other little ones on their same wave length…glad it was a success x

    • thank you, yes. I was bit worried at first because it was all boys and older than her as they were all 4 or almost 4 but she just loved it. didn’t bother her and she was giggling and playing and hving a lovely time. And yes they just need to be with kids who get them too. It didn’t matter when someone start sqealing or crying, it was fine
      thanks Christie
      Corrie:)

  5. It’s amazing what a difference something as simple as a specific playgroup can make to someone’s life.

I remember my mother changing playgroups because she was worried about my brother and the way that he was talking. The girls who ran the new playgroup picked up on it within a few visits and were giving Mum and Dad the support they needed and the suggestions for speech therapists there after. My brother is now (nearly) 18 and you can’t even hear the stutter or lisp that he had when he was 3.

I hope that Elodie keeps enjoying her new playgroup, it sounds as if she is already making new friends.

    • wow that’s amazing, yes it’s funny how it just takes people to pick up things and then you’re on the right track. I know I’m on the right track now and try not to dwell on how long it took us to get here
      thank you
      Corrie:)

  8. Melissa says:

  11. Oh Corrie, my heart melts when I look at photos like these of Corrie, your’s must burst! I already admire your photography skills, so I’m looking forward to seeing what you do after another photography course!

  12. Oh Corrie, what a sweetheart! So pleased to hear Elodie now has a playgroup that is the right fit, and less stress for you too. Parenting is a lot about patience, and try, try again :-) (I’m discovering!) Enjoy your course, looking forward to hearing some tips. Big hugs, Jetts xo

  13. Corrie, happy for you and share your joy:)

  14. Those eyes!

  15. What a lovely picture of Elodie!! I just love how her eyes sparkle. So happy to hear you found a playgroup that suits her!

Thank you for sharing those great pictures of your family with us.

  16. Early intervention is awsome. I’m still ever grateful for the help my son got years ago that has helped him blossom into the young man he is today!

  17. Beverley Priest says:

Cute cute Elodie her eyes are beautiful and she looks so sweet in those photo’s, pleased for you Corrie that she had a good time at her playground.

  18. Corrie, I am really excited for Elodie and you that you have found your fit already at the play group. Indeed it’s all about trying therapies on for size and seeing which fits best x the waiting lists is just another example of why we need the NDIS. Enjoy your photography class x Bron
