christmas day 2012

Well another Christmas day is over and my little ones are still up at almost 10pm with toys everywhere. It was  a long day and I think almost everyone (myself included) had a little nap along the way. And as I was walking through the house this morning, a little friend was outside my front window – how perfect for an Aussie Christmas.

And I always love sharing my Christmas photos with you all and this year they are brought to you by my green carpet. Next Christmas when we have lovely carpets and floorboards we can look back at 2012 photos and have a good laugh. It feels like we’re having Christmas at grandma’s house. But hers was brown swirl.

I always put the pressies in piles so that little ones can open their own and we usually have to wait for retro daddy to get up and get himself on the couch! Today we were waiting for finn and then his daddy! Is it a boy thing? I was one of the first up and couldn’t wait to wake up little ones to join me.

watching little ones open presents is one of the best things about Christmas……..Keira was hilarious! So expressive! Such speed at unwrapping each present and offering her services to her little brothers and sisters.

dear little elodie was just happy to sit patting her pile of presents or walk around the room and inspect the others without any urgent need to rip open her paper and see what toys were there. Poor little thing is sporting 2 bruises on her head from banging her head into chairs while trying to climb onto them 2 days in a row.

there was some serious speed unwrapping going on…………

There was lots of lego and I’m happy to report some handmade lovelies too. Unfortunately not made by time poor me. A beautiful doll made by Little Jenny Wren dolls. Wow is the only word I have for the beautifully made doll and little knitted cat. Once you’ve tried to make a doll you have a totally new appreciation for perfection in a beautiful doll like this one.

I gave Emerson the quilt made by Red Pepper Quilts and it’s perfect for him.

and then the rest of the day just flew by and before I knew it I was asleep on the couch.

And that’s that! Tomorrow we do it all over again with more family. I hope you had a fabulous day………………………and you know all the best diets start in the new year!

Lovely lovely lovely, Corrie! Looks like such a fun and exhausting day! The older kids are so funny to watch, my big boy showed such excitement and appreciation for every gift and much like Elodie, my little one took his time and only opened a present every half hour or so… but thoroughly savoured each one!
The photos are so beautiful, your littlies are all adorable. The carpet makes me laugh, we have horrible green carpet on our stairs and upstairs too… look forward to one day changing it all. You must be itching to get the paint and carpet all upgraded.
