church then craft

Well first thing on the agenda this morning was taking these well dressed little ones to church. But I think I’ll call Finn a well dressed little crazy as his mood in the picture pretty much sums up his behaviour all morning.
Ready For Church
Then it was up to Spotlight for some buttons to finish off the latest little craft project of mine. The easy baby cardigan from More Last Minute Knitted Gifts.

It really is easy! Here it is before I seam it all up and block it. Knit all in one piece and the easiest kind of cardigan for a beginnner or someone wanting something quick and satisfying. My kind of project. And although I can now see a couple of boo boo’s in my knitting I’m pretty happy with it.

I am totally in love with the colour (Elm in Bendigo Rustic 12 ply) and because it’s knit in a 12 ply is super snuggly and a little bit rugged for the next addition to our family. I know there are some old school knitters who don’t like to use 10 or 12 ply for babies but I think it makes for a quick and easy little knit and great for winter!

  1. That colour will go with everything. Great choice.

  2. I love your blog! Such a sweet simple jumper! I have to make it!! I love 8 ply and thicker. The quciker I can finish a project the quciker I can start the next!! You are so inspiring!!

  3. 12 ply is good for a fast knit. Baby will be nice and warm. You do realise that you need to come back and show us these things again with a baby inside, don’t you?

  4. It looks gorgeous. I wish I could knit something more difficult than a scarf!

  5. I don’t have a baby to knit for anymore :(
That looks like a great quick knit and I agree on the 10 and 12 ply. Speed to complete is the key! If it takes too long then you are discouraged and the kid is grown out of it before it’s finished 😉 which is what happened to me a few times, I gave up on one coz it was in pink and then the last baby was a boy -um I don’t think that was ever going to sit well with his father!

  6. Love that little knit and the colour. Know any big girl cardi patterns like that. Happy days. chris xx

  7. I have to agree with Bettina. Knitting is an art form at which I am not a good student. Reading your blog I have admired all your craftwork and I wish I could do it as well but… plus I don’t think I have the patience for it. Love that cardigan and the colour, too.

    Hi Corrie,
Love the easy 12 ply cardigan. It would be perfect for my grandson. Where could I find the pattern?
    Thank you,
    Yolaine
