I knit another cardigan for elodie!

Woohoo! Another finished cardigan for little Elodie. I’m on a roll. This is actually the third baby kina I’ve knit but the first for Elodie. It’s such a sweet and easy pattern. Knit all in one piece from the top down. You just need to know how to knit, purl, increase and do some yarn overs for buttonholes. Great for beginners. I also love how modern it looks too.

still big squishy cheeks
I knit this in Bendigo Cotton 8 ply, the gorgeous colour is Blush. A very pretty coral colour that suits her perfectly. I knit this on a short 3.75mm circular needle rather than 4mm as I find the cotton doesn’t stretch as much eventhough the recommended needle size for the 8 ply cotton is 4mm. I also cast on with a smaller needle like a 3mm to get a nice cast on edge.

And now I’m ready to cast on another one for summer! You can never have too many sweet little cardigans when you are one. Ravelry details are here, yarn here and pattern available here.
I’d love to hear what you are knitting this summer………..

  5. She looks beautiful in that color Corrie. I will have to remember about the needle sizes when I knit this up as I like the cotton tighter too instead of a bit loose.

  22. Love the concept of a kina, was browsing for pattern and came across ur blog, must say i love the way the cardi fits ur littl model, colour really suits her,so cute. I wanted so much to knit 1 for my 6yr old niece but couldnt download pattern from ravelry,so i attempted constructng it from scratch. After studying your pics i took th bottom up approach, i chose pastel pink, blue, green, lilac stripes and im proud to say that after a 8 days i was sewing the seams of her own kina,i love th fit. Iv started another 1 for her, this time red and white stripe. Im super exited about knitting 1 for myself. Thnx for the inspiration
