on the needles

oh dear this is embarrassing! somehow I started 3 knitting projects within a week…first up was the pixie hat from vintage baby knits, so cute but taking me like forever to knit up in a 4ply (gorgeous yarn from celia’s basket)

project one

so I moved on to the mason dixon baby kimono in some melody, also lovely and the colour sapphire is just gorgeous.

project 3 baby kimono

then on sunday night while watching underbelly (I’m seriously underwhelmed by this version, yawn, my grandma was right…just switch it off!),I decided to make my own pattern for leg warmers…so far so good. Cast on 40 stitches of 8ply (I’m using luxury) on a set of 4mm dpn’s, grab a safety pin if you can’t find your stitch markers! Once you’re past the rib (k1,p1) you’re on fire so hopefully by Sunday I will have finished these babies and will give you the pattern.

project 2

and I promise not to start anymore knitting projects as I’m running out of room for WIP’s!!!!

  1. Oh leg warmers, my parents bought my eldest back a pair from Europe & she’s quite the Flashdance Flashback right now. Love Posie

  2. They are all great patterns though. I have just as many if not more crochet projects on the go at the moment. I’m too scared to count.

  3. Oooh I’ve just bought the vintage knits book too! I’m going to make the Jasper Diamond Hoodie for Luca when I get a chance. Have to finish a little Debbie Bliss coat first :)

  4. You are amazing! I don’t know how you do it.

I just bought some Melody in sapphire to make the Debbie Bliss baby shrug. I was a bit worried not having seen the colour in “real life” but I think I made the right choice – it looks gorgeous.

  5. Ooooh, the kimono will be lovely! Make sure you do your yo’s nice and tight on the edge though – a couple of mine were a tad on the sloppy side, so didn’t look quite as neat as I would have liked. Boo.

  6. wool is fast becoming a intriguing part of my life…. you are defo helping this!!!!! x love the vintage pixie hat my granny Mattie does these for my kid’s on their cardies x

  7. Isnt the Vintage Knits book just wonderful! I am knitting the diamond hoodie too in some Allegra from BWM and it is knitting up so nicely! Your little pixie hat is very nice in those colors and the kimono looks lovely! I knitted a kimono style cardi for Isabelle when she was about 2 and it looked so nice on her. Your leg warmers will surely be a big hit, I have to knit some soon for dancing class for Isabelle!

  8. Your knits look so lovely Corrie. The Melody looks beautiful, I am going to use mine very soon. I am knitting from the same book too for the Diamond Hoodie, such an easy pattern to remember once you do the first 16 rows! Love the legwarmers, they are on my to do list too for someone’s dance classes which I am sure will be perfect for winter!

  9. Dear Corrie, I have been reading your blog for ages, sorry it’s taken me so long to leave a comment – I love all your knitting! You inspired me to try the dear little EZ February cardigan, now on my third (!) and I will definitely be looking at the Melody colors because the Debbie Bliss wool, wonderful tho it is, is very pricey. And the shrug you made is adorable. Be sure to have a nice day and take care, Barbara. ps Three projects at once is nothing, completely normal I think!
